  • VEGF-A plays a paramount role in tumor angiogenesis, VEGF-C has been characterized as an essential lymphangiogenic factor that promotes cancer metastasis. VEGF-C is a ligand for both VEGF-R3 and VEGF-R2 but has a high affinity for VEGF-R3. It has been reported that the VEGF-C/VEGF-R3 axis is activated in subsets of leukemia patients.
